Gasification is one of the most promising thermal decomposition technology. Gasification converts biomass materials into bio-oil, bio-char and gases in the presence of air or oxygen. In the present study, Gasification studies on Municipal solid waste samples were carried out in a fixed bed reactor at different reaction temperatures like 350-450ºC with 30min of reaction time and the optimum results were obtained at 400℃. The maximum yield amount of 16.66wt% bio-oil and 41.33wt% bio-char obtained at 400℃ for the reaction time of 30min. The bio-oil obtained after reaction can be used after upgradation and bio-char obtained during gasification can be used for the soil amendment and gaseous products can be used as a fuel in industries for chimneys.
